On the west coast of the US, more specifically California, you'll see roller-blading women and protein-packed bodybuilders. Just take Venice Beach in Los Angeles.

Well, that's what our salads are like! Overflowing with nuts, seeds, at least 10 sorts of raw veg, not forgetting shoots and pulses. To give the salad an extra kick, you can select from spicy ginger dressing or a fresh rice milk vinaigrette.

The trump card is the topping! How about a helping of guacamole, veggy curry with fresh pineapple or spiced tofu on top of your salad?
