"It all started on April 1st 1972, when my daughter Odette opened her health food store Lombardia in the cultural heart of Belgium, Antwerp. A little shop filled with tasty, healthy foods as organic bread, lentils and so much more.

At lunch time, my grandson Alain and I used to make special healthy sandwiches for ourselfs, until one day in 1985, a hungry customer asked if he could order one of these "specials" as well. Hungry customers kept on coming back and quickly we were preparing soups, steamed vegetable dishes and fresh fruit juices.

Meantime Alain travelled the globe and developed a fine sense of tastes and smells. He started experimenting with new culinary combinations, Lombardia's kitchen became his laboratory as he was writing recipes everywhere, even on the walls.

National and international media alike, such as The Wall Street Journal, The Independent, "De Morgen" and NBC, have described Alain as an innovating culinary genius.
